Take a look around this year’s International RV, Camping and Motorhome Festival and you’ll notice that recreational vehicles are becoming increasingly high-tech. There are even some units with Internet-ready workstations. It is fitting that there is now a wealth of information available online for RV enthusiasts and people planning to buy or rent their first RV. We have outlined several routes of the information highway especially for you.
According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), the most comprehensive source of RV information on the Internet is their coalition of manufacturers, suppliers, dealers and campgrounds.
Many of the leading RV manufacturers also have websites about their products. Some print publications for RV enthusiasts have online editions designed to reach their readers more easily on the go. Internet access is a plus for those who travel frequently in RVs, because email inboxes and online publication subscriptions are more portable than traditional “junk mail” and paper magazines. Messages and news are available even if travelers don’t have a regular “stop” or phone number. There’s even a satellite phone system for motorhomers who are outside of cellular coverage areas.
Camping is also on trend; travelers can now get phone service in many locations, allowing dial-up Internet access from the road.
